DermaGEN

Get to know your skin in depth and learn how to care for it properly. DermaGen® is a study that allows you to understand the specific needs of your skin, helping you to improve your skin care routine.

Through a genetic analysis, it evaluates both aesthetic aspects and clinical conditions, providing you with personalized information for more effective care.

DNA test that determines 16 genetic markers in 5 categories related to skin care.

Firmness and elasticity
This analysis helps to identify the status of genes related to the production and degradation of collagen. To keep skin firm, smooth and wrinkle-free, collagen plays a fundamental role as the structural protein of the skin and any alteration it has directly affects the state of health of our skin.
Skin aging
Glycation is now recognized as the main cause of accelerated skin aging, this occurs when glucose is not fully metabolized in the body, too much glucose can form chemical bridges with different proteins causing functional alterations. Collagen and elastin fibers are the most affected in the skin.
Sun damage and pigmentation
Exposure to UV sunlight accounts for 90% of the symptoms of skin damage and skin cancer, therefore, these rays represent the most important cause of premature skin aging. Your genes play an important role in determining how well your skin can naturally cope with sun damage.
Oxidative stress (free radical damage)
Free radicals are highly reactive molecules that can damage virtually every other molecule in our body, including the skin. A dull, lifeless and aged appearance; discoloration, blotchiness and uneven skin texture are signs of a high presence of these radicals. A high presence of antioxidants helps fight these molecules.
Sensitivity and inflammation
Most sensitivity and redness problems are caused by our body's first line of defense, inflammation. Genetic predispositions play a large role in determining the amount, or excess, of the inflammatory response.

In addition to these modules we have a clinical section where we analyze your predisposition to autoimmune diseases that manifest themselves in the skin such as psoriasis or vitiligo.

Did you know?

  • 1 in 3 people have genetic variations that predispose their skin to accelerated collagen breakdown.
  • 1 in 2 people are genetically predisposed to genetic reduction of protection against glycation.
  • 2 out of 5 people have a genetic variation that affects the skin's UV defenses.
  • 1 in 2 people are genetically predisposed to reduced antioxidant protection of the skin.
  • 4 out of 5 people have a genetic variant that causes an inflammatory overreaction in response.
