OncoCell® is a liquid biopsy that, from a blood sample, allows the detection of circulating tumor cells (CTCs), considered a key biomarker for early identification of the possible presence or recurrence of cancer.
Its use as a follow-up test helps to monitor the patient's health and assess the risk of relapse.
Early detection is essential, as many cases are diagnosed in advanced stages due to lack of or confusion of symptoms, which complicates treatment and reduces the chances of recovery.
This study is safe, non-invasive and can be repeated periodically to follow up patients with cancer or suspected cancer. It allows the quantification of specific biomarkers in comparison with healthy individuals, with the presence of CTC being a characteristic indicator of metastasis.
Since metastasis causes the majority of cancer deaths, continuous monitoring - recommended every 3 to 4 months - facilitates early detection of relapses and more timely and effective therapeutic decisions.
OncoCell® is performed by a simple blood draw, followed by a molecular analysis (RT q-PCR) that measures the expression of tumor biomarkers, generating a detailed clinical report.
Unlike traditional biopsies or studies such as CT scans, it is less invasive, with no side effects and suitable for frequent monitoring.
Based on liquid biopsy technology and supported by genetic profiling with multiple validated biomarkers, this study provides accurate information that supports the physician in the selection of the most appropriate treatment and patient follow-up.
